Tourist places in and around Deoghar
The major tourist attraction here is Baidyanath Temple. Other popular tourist destinations are Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapeeth, Trikut, Satsang Ashram, Navlakha Temple, Shravani Mela, Sivaganga, Devasangha Math. The beautiful hills called Nandan Pahar is a popular picnic spot and there is also a Nandi temple.

Shivganga is located 200 meters from the temple. When Ravana was carrying the linga to Lanka, he felt the urge for miniature. He handed over the Shiva linga to the guelle and went for a miniature. After the miniature, he needed to wash his hands and be purified before touching the Shiva Linga. When he could not find any water source nearby, he hit the earth with his fist, and drew water from the earth and built a pond. This pond is now known as Sivaganga.
2. Basukinath Temple

The Basukinath Temple is located in Jilundi village Jilha Dumka. It is said that the Basusinath temple is the court of Baba Bhol Nath. In Basusinath Dham, the Shiva and Parvati temples are opposite each other. When the gates of both temples are opened in the evening, the devotees are suggested to move away from the front of the gate as there is a belief that Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati meet each other at this time. Basukinath is one of the most ancient temples. There are also many other small temples of various gods and goddesses in the same complex.
Distance from Deoghar – 10 km
Tapovan has a Shiva temple which is a center of attraction for pilgrims. Shiva’s temple is called Tapanath Mahadev. Many caves are found in this hill. In one of the caves, a Shiva Linga is installed. Here a torn rock is the center of attraction. It is said that when Hanuman ji hit the mace, the rock has burst from the middle. There is also a kund which is called Shukta Kund. Mother Sita used to bathe in this pool. It is said that sage Valmiki came here for penance. Here Sri Sri Balanand Brahmachari attained accomplishment.
4. Tirkut pahad
Famous for the Trikutachal Mahadev Temple, Trikut Hills is located 10 km from Deoghar. The temple is situated on a 2470 feet high hill at the mouth of Mayurakshi. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. There are three main peaks and hence its name is Trikut and the scenic beauty of these hills makes this place a favorable place for tourists.
There is a Trikutachal ashram situated amidst the hills. This ashram was founded by Sampadananda Dev and later operated by his followers. There is also an altar dedicated to Goddess Trishuli.
The Navlakha Temple is dedicated to Radha Krishna and was built by Rani Charusheela, a disciple of Balanand Brahmachari. The temple is situated on the outskirts of Deoghar. Baidyanath Temple This temple is 1.5 km away. The architectural style of the temple resembles that of the Ramakrishna Temple in Belur. The temple is called Navlakha Temple because nine lakh rupees were spent for its construction.
6. Nandan pahad
Situated on the western side of Deoghar, the beautiful Nandan Hills is a famous tourist destination. There is a Shiva temple and a Nandi temple on the hill. A large statue of Nandi, the vehicle of Lord Shiva, is also located there. There is also a park for children. There is a boot house, a ghost house and a mirror house and many rides for children. Boating facilities and Russian swing are also available. The panoramic view of the city can be enjoyed from the Nandan hills.
