Bhopal is a famous city in India and also the capital of the state of Madhya Pradesh. Bhopal, famous as the city of lakes, was also the capital of the princely state of Bhopal. It has a fascinating past and the city was established by Raja Bhoj between 1000 – 1055. Raja Bhoja belonged to the Parmar dynasty. The modern foundations of the city were laid by friend Muhammad Khan during the second half of the eighteenth century. After this the city was ruled by the Nawabs and Hamidullah Khan was the last ruler of Bhopal. Mughal and Afghani influences can be easily seen in Bhopal’s architecture, music, food, art, culture and cuisine. The city was formally merged into the Union of India in April 1949 and since then Bhopal has played an important role in the development of the country.

By Rail: The city is well connected to almost parts of the country by rail. Trains are easily available from Bhopal railway station to Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai. Shatabdi Express is also run from here to Delhi, Gwalior and Indore. One can go on a city tour with the help of cab or auto from Bhopal railway station.

By Air:Airport is also known as Raja Bhoj Airport which is 15 km from the city. Is located at a distance. Several national and international flights are flown daily from this airport. From here, daily flights to Mumbai, Delhi, Indore and Gwalior. Regular flights are available from Bhopal Airport to Sharjhan and Dubai. Some international airlines are also connected to this airport.
